About JAC
Born in Amsterdam (1959), Jacqueline Schuitenmaker trained at the Pedagogical Academy in Haarlem. After working passionately in education for ten years, she immersed herself in art through master classes with renowned artists for 15 years.
She then developed her own style in an inspiring artist community, which led to the opening of her own studio and gallery in the heart of Bussum in 2015. Here, she works with dedication on her collections and creates commissioned paintings with equal love.
Her works adorn both national and international interiors and are an impressive eye-catcher for many enthusiastic clients.

Artist Statement
As a painter, I aim to tell stories that amaze, intrigue and capture the imagination. My work balances between abstraction and familiarity, using simplicity, contrast and mixed media to capture the essence of my subjects.
In the series Silhouet I explore the power of minimalism. By reducing forms to their core and omitting details, I invite the viewer to make their own interpretation and establish a personal connection with the work.
The Ubuntu collection is inspired by African philosophy that emphasises our interconnectedness. These works show the diversity and beauty of humanity and remind us that together we are stronger
With the series Transience I focus on the beauty of impermanence. The rust tones symbolise the passage of time and show that old age has its own aesthetic and value.
In the series Open and exposed I reflect on the social changes that force us to let go of old certainties and be open to new possibilities. These paintings depict both the vulnerability and resilience involved.
With love and craftsmanship
I create a unique customised painting, completely tailored to your wishes. This can be in any style found on my website. Special are my portraits, in which I capture the course of a person's life. I carefully incorporate newspapers, photos and other valuable documents into the underlay of the canvas, giving the painting a deeper meaning. I then use oil paint to bring the portrait to life, with an eye for detail and emotion.
Every artwork I create is an invitation to stop, reflect and discover your own story in it. I cordially invite you to view my collection and be inspired at my JAC Studio & Gallery in Bussum.
